I have often wondered, “Why it is
that 12 step programs require a person to identify themselves with
negative stereotypes such as I am an Alcoholic, Drug Addict, Sex
Addict, etc?”
Why can't a person just state implicitly, “I am a Child of God and I refuse to participate in any activity which fringes on my ability to live up to my birthright?” I know that people are going to say that they are not strong enough to do it on their own to which I say, “That is where your belief in a Higher power kicks in and all that other stuff is just noise which keeps people in bondage and dependent on their sponsors and the organizations.”
Again this is my opinion don't let it ruffle your feathers.
